ALEXANDER COMMENTS ON HIE CAIRNGORM MARKET RESEARCH

Following two very successful years, HIE have announced that they will be carrying out market research to gauge interest from prospective buyers. Although the facility is not currently for sale, the research is intended to be completed by the end of 2012.

Highland MP Danny Alexander says:

"Cairngorm mountain has had a good last couple of years, but of course the future is unpredictable. HIE must ensure that any new model for delivering the service maintains or improves on current high standards, and that the ski area receives much needed investment so it can continue to be a huge asset to our area.

"It's fantastic that the last two years have been so successful for the Cairngorm Ski Centre. The resort is world famous and one of the most valuable industries for our area. For that reason, it comes as no surprise that HIE now feel that the Centre can be a successful and viable business and that this is the right time to go ahead with a market research programme."
