Danny Alexander MP has welcomed the news that the Coalition Government's plans to bring superfast broadband to the Highlands and Islands have been approved by the European Commission.
Our area was one of the first to be awarded the funding when the Lib Dems came into Government.

Highland farmers and food producers should benefit from the new supermarket watchdog according to Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander.
The Chief Secretary to the Treasury says the ombudsman will be able to act against supermarkets which undermine supplier's commercial viability by transferring the risks and unexpected costs to them.
1-Nov-2012 - ALEXANDER PRAISED BY FAIR FUEL CAMPAIGN
Highland MP and Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has been praised by the leaders of FairFuel UK who are due to present him with a report criticising a 3p-per-litre fuel duty increase planned for January.
The report, which claims the rise could lead to as many as 35,000 job losses and have a negative effect on economic growth, will be presented to the Treasury Secretary during a meeting in London.

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander has welcomed energy regulator Ofgem's latest proposal to make the energy market fairer for small business customers in the Highlands and across the UK.
The proposals would increase the number of small businesses that benefit from its existing safeguards, covering an extra 150,000 businesses that typically spend up to £10,000 each per year.

Highland MP, and Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander is calling on large business to support the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) scheme which will help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the Highlands secure increased levels of affordable finance and support job growth.
Supply Chain Finance is an innovative way for large companies to help their supply chain access credit and improve cash-flow and at a much lower cost.

"These resignations illustrate clearly the divisions which exist within the SNP and the doubts of its own members about this Scottish Government which until now have been stifled. The party's new position on NATO, as on defence in general is self contradictory and not in the best interests of the safety and security of the people of Scotland.

On 4th October the Tax Justice Bus will pull into Inverness as part of a 53-day tour of the UK and Ireland to highlight how global tax dodging is hurting the poor in the UK and beyond.
Local supporters will welcome Christian Aid and Church Action on Poverty's red double-decker as it stops at Inshes Church in Sir Walter Scott Drive at 7.30pm.

Milton of Connage Farm owner, Cameron Clark is a member of the Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative (OMSCo).
