Telecommunications group Talk Talk recently unbundled Aviemore and Grantown on Spey exchanges. As a result an additional 3,200 homes will be able to benefit from lower prices and improved service.

This Saturday, Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander welcomed fellow Lib Dem Minister, Business Secretary, Vince Cable to Inverness. As one of the Highlands most important and ambitious projects, Mr Cable and Mr Alexander visited the UHI campus which is now under development in East Inverness.

Liberal Democrats from across the Highlands have backed a call made by Nick Clegg and Danny Alexander for the Coalition Government to make tax fairer in the next budget.
Speaking at the Lib Dem Autumn Conference in Brighton, the Deputy Prime Minister, Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg and, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Highland MP Danny Alexander launched the campaign to make the richest pay their share and cut the Income Tax bill for 21m people, including approximately 98,000 people living in the Highlands – taking 10,000 out of paying income tax altogether.

MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey Danny Alexander has welcomed the latest Office of Fair Trading (OFT) announcement - asking concerned motorists and organisations to submit information amid continuing concerns about prices at the pump.
The OFT review will focus on whether reductions in price of crude oil are being reflected by the price motorists are paying at the pump.

Highland MP Danny Alexander is urging communities across Aird, Loch Ness, Nairnshire, Badenoch and Strathpey to apply for the SOS grant before the deadline next week.
Part of the Big Lottery Fund, Village SOS makes grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 to rural communities who want to set up new social enterprises.

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP, Danny Alexander, has praised the work of the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), and the cooperation of GB Oils Limited, ensuring that customers' charges reflect their original quote.
In its 2011 Off-Grid Energy Market Study, the OFT identified concerns that some customers were being treated unfairly by some suppliers – by highlighting discrepancies between the original quoted price and the final bill.
