23-Jul-2012 - Alexander welcomes dairy code of conduct
Inverness, Nairn Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander has welcomed news that farmers and dairy processors have agreed to an outline of a dairy industry Code of Practice on milk contracts today (23rd July) at the Royal Welsh show.
The finer details of the Code will now be finalised by all parties by the end of August with the intention that in future contracts between farmers and dairy processors will be properly negotiated, fairer and more transparent.
5-Jul-2012 - ALEXANDER WELCOMES PROGRESS ON EQUITABLE LIFE COMPENSATION
Highland MP and Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has welcomed news that the government has now paid out more than £270M to around 300,000 Equitable Life policy holders who lost money as a result of regulatory failure after the collapse of the firm.
A commitment to recompensing individuals who lost money as a result of public maladministration of the troubled insurer was included in the coalition agreement after the general election in 2010.

Commenting on the news that the Coalition Government has decided to postpone the August fuel duty rise, Danny Alexander MP for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and member of The Quad said:
"The coalition has always made clear that helping motorists hit by high fuel prices was a genuine priority and I know that our announcement today will be welcomed across the Highlands.
"I know that many people in the Highlands were concerned over the impact that the planned 3p rise would have had if it had came into force in August.

A trial project to improve WiFi services on commuter trains across Scotland started this week on the busy route between Glasgow to Edinburgh.

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander welcomed the latest announcement from the Scottish Office - that funding for Emergency Towing will be reinstated.
The tugs, used to pull stricken vessels away from danger and hazardous shorelines, provide essential security for some of the country's most important shipping routes.

McDonald's invest £43 million each year training staff across the UK.

Comment on the Crown Estate's announcement of the first two pilots of Local Management Agreements giving local communities more control of the coastline.
Speaking from the location of one of the pilots in Portree, Danny Alexander, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, said:
