Inverness South Lib Dem council candidates Thomas Prag and Carolyn Caddick were joined by local MP Danny Alexander on Saturday to visit Nairnside-based business, Chambers Electronics.
The trio heard about the problems the firm has faced getting the speed of broadband connection which is needed to be competitive on a national and international basis.

Highland Books Online enables stock to be registered and sold via the popular Amazon website, as well as providing work experience opportunities to those struggling to gain a foothold in the jobs market.

Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey MP Danny Alexander visited the Inverness Job Centre on Thursday to discuss the Youth Contract.
The visit was attended by key job centre staff and local employer Adrian Gray, of AJG Parcels, who pledged his support for the new scheme.

An estimated 98,000 Highlanders on low and middle incomes will see
their income tax cut tomorrow as a result of the increase in the
amount that people can earn tax free. An additional 5,300 Highlanders
will be lifted out of paying tax altogether.

22-Mar-2012 - ALEXANDER A BUDGET FOR THE MILLIONS, NOT THE MILLIONAIRES
In the Budget Statement, the Chancellor of the Exchequer confirmed that the Government would move forward with plans to increase the income tax threshold to £10,000. Next year the threshold will increase to £9,205 in a move that will give 2.1 million people in Scotland a tax cut, with basic taxpayers keeping an additional £220 of their earnings.

Ness Minister, brewed by the Loch Ness Brewery in Drumnadrochit, was welcomed to the Strangers Bar in Parliament yesterday.
The move comes after local MP, Danny Alexander, proposed that the brew be made available as guest ale in the Strangers Bar.

The Business Secretary Vince Cable announced today (8 March) that the first ever UK Green Investment Bank (GIB) will be based in Edinburgh and London.
The headquarters of the GIB will be located in Edinburgh, with the GIB's main transaction team based in London.
